About us
Local, plant-based, and built around a healthy yard
Sacramento Mosquito Control is a local mosquito service built around a healthier way to treat a yard. We started for a simple reason: people kept asking for a way to get their yards back in the summer without hiring a conventional service to fog the whole property with synthetics every few weeks. So we built the program we would want on our own yards, botanical treatments paired with In2Care stations, serviced on a tight cycle.
Why we treat yards this way
Our whole approach starts from the living systems of a yard: the soil, the pollinators, and the balance that keeps a landscape healthy. That perspective changes how you approach pest control. We do not reach first for the product that carpets everything in a persistent synthetic. We look for the approach that solves the problem while leaving the rest of the yard intact.
Mosquito control done the conventional way often works against that balance. A broad synthetic knockdown, repeated every few weeks all season, does not just hit mosquitoes. It hits the bees, the ladybugs eating your aphids, the predatory insects that keep other pests in check. Do that long enough and you can trade a mosquito problem for a different pest problem. The plant-based approach, paired with the targeted In2Care system, lets us solve the mosquito problem without unraveling everything else. That is the whole reason we do it this way.

What we believe about mosquito control
A few principles run through everything we do.
Treat the cause, not just the symptom. Anyone can knock down the adults you see today. We spend as much effort on the breeding water and the harborage as on the spray, because that is what keeps the bugs from coming right back. The In2Care stations exist to reach the breeding water a spray never touches.
Gentler chemistry, serviced more often. We would rather use a botanical product that breaks down and come back every 21 days than use a harsh synthetic and stretch the visits out. It is more work for us, and it is the right way to run a plant-based program.
Protect what belongs in the yard. We treat resting sites, not blooms. We map the vegetable beds and the beehives as no-treat zones. The goal is a yard without mosquitoes, not a yard without life.
Be honest about what we can and cannot do. No mosquito program eliminates every last insect, and any service that promises that is selling you something. We tell you what to realistically expect, and then we deliver it.
Straight talk about what we use
We want to be precise about what goes on your property, because green claims get abused in this industry. Our core barrier treatment is a genuine plant-based, essential-oil product, low-risk and exempt from federal pesticide registration because of its ingredients. The In2Care system uses a naturally occurring fungus alongside a small, targeted dose of an insect growth regulator delivered by the mosquitoes themselves rather than sprayed across your yard. We do not claim to be chemical-free. What we are is a low-impact, plant-forward, reduced-risk program that keeps the chemical load on your property far below a conventional service. We would rather tell you exactly what we use than hide behind a green label.
Where we work
We serve the greater Sacramento region: the city of Sacramento and the suburbs around it, up into Placer County to Roseville and Rocklin, out to Folsom and Granite Bay, and south to Elk Grove. If you are in the region and not sure whether we reach you, just ask.
Common questions
Are you licensed to apply these treatments?
Yes, we operate as a professional service and follow California requirements for the products and applications we use. When you request a quote we are happy to walk you through exactly what we apply and how.
What products do you actually use?
Our core barrier is an essential-oil based product built on rosemary, geraniol, and peppermint oils. For breeding control we use In2Care mosquito stations, which pair a naturally occurring fungus with a targeted larvicide the mosquitoes distribute themselves. We are glad to go into detail with any customer.
